Inspired by the great Renaissance maestro, Leonardo Da Vinci, the branding for Mona Lisa gelato celebrates the Renaissance through the art of both gelato and chocolate. To bring Italian Renaissance to life, we used a colour palette to resemble the gold, the azurite, the malachite, the carbon black and the technique of chiaroscuro of the time. The classic paintings were re-painted, but with a twist: cones of Mona Lisa gelato are an integral part of the painting, making us wonder: Did the people of the Renaissance era really eat ice cream? The packaging, gilded and luxurious, or a reproduction of the paintings, is, itself, a work of art, complementing the exquisite quality of the Mona Lisa gelato and chocolate.
